How to Style Asymmetrical Dresses for Work

Posted by Claire Erickson on

Sometimes, a simple shape isn't enough for a dress. Accessories can help spice up a solid color or plain silhouette, but how much is too much? The easiest way to amp up your wardrobe is by adding dresses with different cuts! Additional elements like contrasting colors, or diagonal lines are playful to the eye, and most importantly, appropriate for work.

Luckily for you, we have just the dresses you have been looking for! These asymmetrical dresses are what you need to stand out from your coworkers.

1. Bowknot Peplum Dress

The best feature of this dress is its versatility. It comes in two colors, and the bow can be styled several different ways! Leave it untied to resemble a draped scarf, tie it in a bow like the photo above, or cross it over your waist and tie it in back for an even more unique look.

The long sleeves are perfect for when the air conditioning gets too cold in the office, and the asymmetrical peplum bodice is a beautiful mixture of fun and class.

Pair this dress with some simple heels, makeup, and hair. Remember, we don't want to distract from how fun this dress is!

COLORS: Blue, Black

2. Off the Job Dress

I can't think of a better dress for the office, can you? It is solid in color, with an interesting skirt, and a classic v-neck. The sleeveless top makes this dress easy to wear with a cardigan for a normal day at the office, or a blazer for your next key note speech at a conference.

Wear a pair of nude, pointed-toe stilettos and some thin-band bracelets to show of your freshest manicure!

COLORS: Green, Black

3. Best of Both Worlds Dress

A wrap dress is delicate and feminine, so it is best worn during the summer months when it is hotter outside. The most compelling feature of this dress is the contrasting colors from one side of the dress to the other. Personally, my favorite is the black and white. It can be paired with any color accessory, and is in perfect balance of the basic office neutrals.

The colors and style of the dress need not many accessories, so your newest tote bag, and strappy sandals will make the perfect finishing touches!

COLORS: White and Black, Pink and Blue, Pink and Black
